Results to date and also the recent scientific review and DNA study, show that having a well thought out herd management programme is going to be critical to achieving a productive Wapiti trophy herd. There will always be a need for intensive culling and monitoring. Hunter buy-in to the aims and requirements of FWF will also be critical to all of this succeeding.

FWF see that obtaining a better understand the ground shot (recreational hunter) deer harvest and improving our understanding of genotype-phenotpe relationships are priorities for being able to develop an even more effective culling programme.
