3.1 The Trust Fund both capital and income from time to time arising therefrom at the trustees absolute discretion shall be used for the furtherance of the following charitable purposes and objects within New Zealand and in particular the Fiordland National park as part of the Te Wahi Poumamu South West New Zealand world Heritage area, including the environment surrounding such areas:
3.1.1 To assist in conservation research in New Zealand and particularly the Fiordland National Park and surrounding environment.
3.1.2 To foster, encourage and educate New Zealanders in an appreciation of wilderness values and wildlife, particularly within the Fiordland National Park.
3.1.3 To inform and educate about ecological processes and wildlife within the Fiordland National Park particularly the Wapiti type feral deer herd.
3.1.4 To inspire responsible educational adventure in the mountains and wilderness areas of the Fiordland National Park and particularly the area in which the Wapiti type feral deer herd is located.
3.1.5 To encourage and enable the enhancement of the Wapiti type feral deer herd within the Fiordland national park, and to educate new Zealanders in an appreciation of the herd.
3.1.6 To encourage re-evaluation of wild animals and particularly the Wapiti type feral deer herd as a manageable resource within the Fiordland National Park and elsewhere as appropriate.
3.1.7 To inspire, encourage and educate young New Zealanders in appreciation of the wilderness values and wildlife of New Zealand and particularly to promote responsibly for them educational adventure including recreational hunting in the Fiordland National Park.
3.1.8 To support projects which help to understand wilderness and its inhabitants, particularly the Wapiti type feral deer herd within the Fiordland National Park.
3.1.9 To foster and encourage the enhancement as a trophy herd the Wapiti type feral deer within the Fiordland National Park and to undertake such work generally as is related to the preservation of the herd, including the control of all other feral deer species.
3.1.10 To encourage and receive donations from any persons, bodies, companies or businesses to be applied for the purposes of these objects
3.1.11 Any other work generally related to the preservation of the Wapiti type feral deer herd in particular and wildlife in general in the Fiordland National Park.
3.1.12 The objects or purposes of this trust are or shall be charitable as approved by the Commissioner of the Inland Revenue and shall be deemed not to include or extent to any other matter or thing which is or shall be held or determined to be non-charitable and the powers and purposes of the board and trusts created shall be so restricted.
3.1.14 the provision, supply and furtherance of the above objects and any other charitable purposes related to the above objects which the Trustees deem desirable and which are acceptable to the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
